Story

Located in the heart of Lichfield, Larder is a family-run, modern restaurant proudly serving quality produce with bold flavours since 2018. Larder is the product of passion, graft and enthusiasm (and a lot of eating) to bring something special we all love about hospitality to our home town.

LUKE JAMES

Luke and his family had a vision in 2018 to open a new restaurant experience in Lichfield. After finding 17 Bore Street, they set to work using their wealth of experience in construction converting what was a photographic studio into a modern restaurant in just 10 weeks. Following Luke’s culinary career, he used his passion and acute attention to detail to open Larder Lichfield.

Larder offers a comfortable, modern fine dining experience seamlessly blended with a more casual foodie environment. Over the years, Luke has trained up a team at Larder who share the same ethos to have fun, have each other’s back and ensure all customers have a great food experience.

Kitchen

Head Chef Alex began his career as a kitchen assistant at the age of 15 whilst studying for his college catering course. From here, his eagerness to learn and passion for cooking saw him through the ranks of fine dining restaurants to reach senior sous chef at the age of 28.

Alex’s menus for Larder blend traditional dishes with modern techniques, using local produce and seasonal ingredients to enhance the flavours. Whether Alex is cooking Larder’s 7 course tasting menu or a prime beef burger, the passion for perfection and the satisfaction of creating something delicious remains the same.

Our Journey

Before we opened our restaurant doors, we were told how difficult the industry can be. Although there have been challenging moments, when you get the recipe right, it is also one of the best experiences possible. We continue to nurture our working relationships and ensure the whole of our team share the same aspiration and goal of providing the best possible dining experience for our guests.
